Line's Norwalk Title Defense Will Start from Fifth

After running late in the evening on Friday, the warmer and more humid conditions on Saturday at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park prevented any changes among the top 12 qualifiers in the naturally-aspirated Pro Stock category. As a result, Summit Racing driver Jason Line's 6.620-second time from Friday remained his run of record, earning him the fifth starting position for Sunday's final eliminations of the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. Using their final two qualifying attempts in preparation for race day, the KB Racing team's focus turned towards successfully defending their win from a year ago.

"Overall, it was a pretty good day for our Summit Racing team," said Line. "My teammate (Greg Anderson) won the K&N Horsepower Challenge, and my Summit Racing Pontiac was pretty decent. We made it down the track every time, although I would like to find a little more speed. I would naturally have liked to done better in the Challenge, but want to thank everyone at K&N for everything they do for the Pro Stock class, making it such a special event.

"The bottom line is that we're continuing to make progress with these race cars, inching our way closer to where we want to be. We still have some work to do, but the guys are doing a good job and we're heading in the right direction.

"Tomorrow is a very important day for us, running in the Summit race at Summit Motorsports Park, and we're going to do whatever we can to make sure there is a Summit car in the winner's circle tomorrow night. We have a rematch of last year's final in the first round, facing Mike Edwards, and hopefully we can come away with the same result."
