Line Qualifies Third following Roller Coaster Day in Norwalk

Jason Line experienced both ends of the competitive spectrum during the final day of qualifying for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. On one hand, his Summit Racing Pontiac GXP continued to be among the best in the ultra-competitive Pro Stock category, with his 6.652-second, 207.46 mph pass in the morning session earning the third qualifying position for Sunday's final eliminations, one better than his standing after Friday.

However, his reaction was somewhat tempered by his semifinal finish in the K&N Horsepower Challenge specialty race, where his solid 6.684-second, 206.89 mph pass allowed teammate Greg Anderson to narrowly advance.

"We definitely got better today, but we still didn't have the type of day we were looking for," said Line. "We made a good run against Kurt (Johnson) in the first round and had a good race against Greg (Anderson) in the semifinals. Unfortunately we just didn't make the run we needed to, shaking the tires just a little, and it cost us.

"The good news is that we get to try again tomorrow, and we have a car that is capable of winning the race. After all, this is Summit's race and we have to do whatever it takes to get one of these Summit GXPs in the winner's circle."
