FRAM Top Fuel Dragster Opens with 4.564-second Time

NORWALK, Ohio, June 29, 2007 -- Cory McClenathan was low qualifier after Friday's first run (4.564 seconds at 323.89 mph) in the inaugural Summit Racing Equipment Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park but slipped to fifth when a mechanical malfunction forced him to abort his nighttime run.

"It felt good to get a good time on our first run, and it was good we did," said the driver of the Scott Griffin Motorsports FRAM Top Fuel dragster. "The car's burst panel was knocked out just past the starting line. That was an odd thing to see. It just shut itself off. We're not concerned about that. The track is good and now we'll work on our race-day setup on Saturday."

Two runs Saturday will set the 16-car line-up.
