MOHNTON, Pa. (Sept. 28, 2011) – Bob Vandergriff displayed top notch driving skills this past weekend at the 2011 AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals when he pedaled his C&J Energy Services Top Fuel Dragster to a win over Spencer Massey in the final round of eliminations.

Vandergriff kicked-off the weekend by qualifying in the top half of the field. As no. 8 qualifier, he would face no. 9 qualifier, Troy Buff, for first round on race day.

The Georgia native drove the C&J Energy Services dragster to the finish line first throughout four rounds of eliminations. He was the first Top Fuel Dragster Driver of the weekend to trigger win lights on the scoreboard, and he was also the last.

Vandergriff showed his excitement by jumping out of his car which he left at the end of the track, and running back to the starting line to meet his crew, family, friends, and C&J Energy Services employees and guests. In addition, he collected a commemorative NHRA 60th anniversary pewter Wally trophy which he held high for winner’s circle photographs when the race was over.

C&J Energy Services signed on with Vandergriff for the full 22-race tour at the beginning of the 2011 season.

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, C&J Energy Services is a provider of hydraulic fracturing, coiled tubing and pressure pumping services to the oil and gas industry in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Being that C&J Energy Services has such a large following in the Texas area, Rod Fuller, driver of the Yas Marina Circuit Top Fuel Dragster, ran with the C&J colors alongside Vandergriff.

“It’s been a long road to the winner’s circle, but I’m relieved that I finally have the perfect team together to get there. We had guests, family and friends here this weekend and it was a huge event for our sponsor, C&J Energy Services. We couldn’t have picked a better race to win with them behind us.”

Josh Comstock, founder and CEO of C&J Energy Services was among those in attendance at the Motorplex this weekend. Many C&J Energy Services guests joined Comstock at the race track as well.

“This was a phenomenal weekend for Bob Vandergriff and everyone at C&J Energy Services. We had two cars in competition here in Dallas and both of them had a successful weekend. With Bob (Vandergriff) winning the race and Rod Fuller in the second car qualifying third and accomplishing his 100th straight qualified field, it was a great weekend for everyone. We we’re proud to have both cars flying under the C&J Energy Services banner,” Comstock said.

The C&J Energy Services Top Fuel Dragster will next attend the Uni-Select Auto Plus NHRA Nationals, September 29-October 2 in Reading, Pa. Vandergriff and the entire team find themselves going into this event with more confidence than ever.
