With the first day of qualifying in the books, Top Alcohol Dragster pilot Mike Kosky of Cuddy, Pa., and Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Chris Foster of Davenport, Iowa took the pole. Sidelined Funny Car driver Tommy Johnson Jr. of Avon, Ind., currently sits outside of the qualifying class.
