Mopar renews title sponsorship of NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event in Denver.

POMONA, Calif. (Feb. 8, 2003) - Mopar Performance Parts, the performance group for the Mopar Parts network and long-time sponsor of NHRA drag racing, has reached a multi-year agreement with the NHRA and Bandimere Speedway to continue as title-rights sponsor of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event held annually at the scenic drag strip, it was announced today by NHRA and Mopar officials during a press conference at Pomona Raceway.

The 24th annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals, July 18-20, is the 13th of 23 events in the $50 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series for 2003. The $1.8 million race, which will be televised by ESPN2, is the first of a three-race western swing that always proves critical for NHRA teams chasing NHRA POWERade championships in all four professional categories.

"We're excited to renew our title sponsorship of the Mopar Mile-High Nationals, one of NHRA's most storied and tradition-rich events, held at one of the most spectacular and fan-friendly venues on the circuit, Bandimere Speedway," said Brett Fischer, motorsports manager for Mopar Performance Parts. "The Mopar Mile-High Nationals has a history of showcasing close competition and pushing NHRA teams to the limit to find every ounce of performance to conquer the mountain. We expect another thrilling race this season and in the years to come."

The commitment maintains Mopar's involvement with the NHRA. Mopar also is the primary sponsor for two NHRA Pro Stock teams, featuring four drivers: Darrell Alderman, Gene Wilson, Larry Morgan and Allen Johnson.
