White looking to regain Indy momentum

HEBRON, Ohio - As the 2003 Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series winds to a close this weekend at National Trail Raceway just outside of Columbus, Ohio, NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Marc White and the Bar's Leaks/Etterman Racing Team are looking for a little redemption. While not in contention for the division title, the team is looking to pick up where they left off two weeks ago when they almost won the biggest race in all of drag racing in Indianapolis.

White, from Glendale Heights, Ill., feels with favorable conditions forecasted for this weekend, it shouldn't be a problem picking up where they left off in Indy.

"We had the car pretty solid in the .60's in Indy," stated White. "If the weatherman is right, it's supposed to be in the 60's and sunny all weekend. In those kinds of conditions, you had better be able to run 5.60's, or even better."

"We really would like to come out here and get the bad taste from Indy out of our mouth," White continued. "Winning Columbus would be a step."

Qualifying begins on Friday for the alcohol cars with two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday. Stay tuned to InsideTopAlcohol.com for the latest news in alcohol racing.
