ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (May 29) – Watching all of the pageantry and drama of the Indianapolis 500 only made driver Morgan Lucas more eager to get his GEICO/Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster back out on the track at this weekend's 43rd annual Toyota NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.

"I'm definitely excited to go to Englishtown," Lucas said. "If the weather and air are right, we can really thunder there. You get excited to go anywhere that is sea level and has a good barometer reading."

It's doesn't hurt that Lucas is having the best year of his career with two wins and four No. 1 qualifiers through eight races this season.

"We're on the right track," Lucas said. "We've got some good information for running on hot racetracks the last couple of times out so we'll be ready for anything. We'll keep learning and moving forward.

"I keep saying this because it's true, but this is the best car and best crew I've ever been a part of in my career. It's a joy to drive and it's fun to share in the success with these guys."

Lucas is solidly in fourth place in the Top Fuel standings. He is 40 points behind Antron Brown for third and 71 in front of fifth-place Steve Torrence.

While normally a side trip to New York is a big part of the Englishtown plan, Lucas said he was going to stay close to the track this time around.

"We had a busy week last week with all the stuff that was going on around the Indianapolis 500," Lucas said. "So this time we're going to go in on Thursday like we would on any other race weekend.

"We're just going to get down to business. If we win this weekend, then we can go into Manhattan and celebrate."
