RIVERSIDE, Calif - The World Wrestling Federation Racing team is prepared to defend their SummitRacing.com Nationals championship title when they visit the Las Vegas Motor Speedway April 6-8, 2001.
"The Strip" is a new, state of the art facility that held its inaugural Winston Drag Racing Series event in 2000. "This is an awesome track. Barton Smith definitely raised the bar when he built this racetrack. The race surface is good and we should expect good numbers," said Jerry Toliver, driver of the XFL. Pontiac Firebird.
After two intense days of testing at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, TX, J e n y Toliver and the team are confident that they will be major contenders at this NHRA Winston Drag Racing Event. "We tested in Houston for two days and it went very well, we are looking for excellent results when we get to Vegas. It's time to get this team turned around and on the right track. What better place to do that then Vegas where our team won the event last year with our second car," stated Jew.
Tony Bartone, driver of the WrestleManiam Pontiac Firebird, will make his first appearance at "The Strip" as a top he1 Funny Car driver at the Summitracing.com Nationals. "I am very excited about this event, it will be my first time racing a Fuel Funny Car in Vegas. The team won this event last year and we hope to repeat that Victory."
Toliver racing is in its fourth season of competition in the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series in 2001. With six wins to its credit and a third and fifth place &ish in the season points championship in 2000, the team's goal is to run for the points championship. The Toliver Racing prepared XFL and WrestMania Pontiac Firebird Funny Car's will be driven by Jerry Toliver and Tony Bartone, respectively.
