Las Vegas, Nev. (April 7): After on and off showers delayed most of day two of qualifying for the SummitRacing.com Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Tony "The Sarge" Schumacher will start No. 6 as he enters Final Eliminations on Sunday.

"The Sarge" spent most of the day visiting with hospitality guests and signing autographs before making his third qualifying attempt over five hours after the scheduled session was to begin.

Schumacher ran a 4.614 e.t. at 318.54 mph. Though he did not improve he position, he maintained the No. 6 position.

"It's tough to sit around all day not knowing when you are going to run," said Schumacher. "Every time we are ready to go, it starts to rain again."

In the final session before Sunday's eliminations, Schumacher smoked the tires about 100 feet from the starting line and coasted down track without trying to pedal the car, knowing he could not improve his position.

Schumacher will face No. 11 qualifier, Rhonda Hartman-Smith in the first round on Sunday. Schumacher is 3-2 in his career against Hartman-Smith. Final Eliminations are scheduled to begin at 11 am PT. Check local listings for ESPN coverage of the SummitRacing.com Nationals.
