The JEG'S Mail Order Pro Stock Truck team left the Mac Tools Gatornationals and headed straight for their new shop. The team spent the time between races regrouping and preparing for the races to come.
John Coughlin and his yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 is currently sitting in the No. 5 position in the NHRA Winston Championship points. John is 82 points from the top spot going into the third race of the season for NHRA's newest professional class.
"The next two races will be very important." John added, "We have the opportunity to make a run in the points. If you have strong momentum through these two races you will be rewarded."
Mike Coughlin rests in the No. 18 spot heading into the next race on the NHRA tour with 41 points. Mike and his JEG'S Mail Order machine is a mere 45 points away from breaking into the top ten. A strong performance in Las Vegas could move Mike as high as the No. 5 spot.
Mike talked about the points battle at this young stage of the season, "Now is the time to make a move in the points. With everything as tight as it is, I can make the biggest jump forward now." Coughlin added, "No one driver in this class is running away with it. There are so many good drivers in this class that anyone who qualifies can win on raceday."
The team engines went back to DART Machinery to be reviewed by engine builder Richard Maskin and his staff. They spent their time analyzing every component in an effort to increase the teams performance under the hood. "This task is nothing out of the ordinary for us." Maskin continued, "Everyone is in the development stage in this class. New theories and old theories are combined with ideas in an effort to win."
