The Las Vegas strip is a famous boulevard built on numbers like deuce, twenty-one, seven, eleven, and others, numbers that have helped the Vegas strip become world famous. But just north of town sits the other strip, "The Strip at Las Vegas" and within just the past few years, it too has gained a reputation throughout the racing world as a strip known for performance numbers.

With the NHRA Full Throttle tour rolling into Las Vegas this weekend for the Summitracing.com Nationals, Rodger Brogdon and the Steve Kent Racing team are looking to put up some performance numbers of their own on the famous quarter mile. After a strong showing at their home track in Houston last weekend, the team knows they are slowly refining and bringing their Pontiac GXP ever closer to the sixteen car Sunday show on the NHRA tour.

"We knew when we put this team together that it would take some time to work our way into the qualified field," said Rodger Brogdon. "Working with Cagnazzi power and having Tommy Utt lending his assistance the last two races has really accelerated our learning curve. We just missed the show in Houston, and that was after qualifying was shortened by rain. I firmly believe that we could have made the field had we had that last qualifying shot. With the progress we've made of late, everyone is ready to get to the Strip at Las Vegas, and see how much more we can improve."

The Summitracing.com nationals first Pro Stock qualifying session will take place Friday at 12:30, with the second session coming at 4:00 pm. With the way the Steve Kent Racing operation has been improving on numbers of late, they might just feel like playing a few numbers of their own Friday night, at that other Vegas strip.
