Jeg Coughlin has sights on top spot.

On the heels of his runner-up finish at the Mac Tools Gatornationals, defending NHRA POWERade Pro Stock champion Jeg Coughlin Jr is looking to get back to the winner's circle. The last time the 32-year old second generation driver visited the winner's circle was in Las Vegas at the AC Delco Nationals, where he clinched the 2003 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock title.

Coughlin knows that success is just around the corner. He has been in 43 final rounds since breaking onto the Pro Stock scene late in 1997. Jeg has won 31 won times in his short professional career.

"There are so many teams capable of winning in Pro Stock every week," explained Jeg. "This is a zero tolerance world in Pro Stock. There is just no room for error."

Jeg Coughlin will enter the fourth race of the 23 race NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series schedule ready to strike from the No. 5 position in the points. He has 198 points is a 67 points from taking the top spot.

"Having back-to-back races (Las Vegas & Houston) really opens up the door of opportunity to string two strong performances together for the first time this season," said Jeg. "Our goal is to capitalize on the opportunity and make a bold move to the top by the end of Houston."
