LAS VEGAS (Oct. 25) -- Larry Morgan is trying to write the script for being the comeback story of the year.

Morgan spent most of 2010 frustrated by the painstaking process of developing the new Ford Pro Stock motor. As a consequence, Morgan and the Lucas Oil Mustang broke a lot of parts, and missed a lot of Sundays during the season.

"We did struggle there for a while," Morgan said. "It's hard to pinpoint what exactly fixed the problem. I'm just pumped up that we have fixed the problem."

Now with just two races left in the season, including the Oct. 29-31 NHRA Las Vegas Nationals, all of those troubles are a distant memory and Morgan once again has a car believes can compete for a win.

"We've been working real hard to prepare for these last two races," Morgan said. "We're going to be all right. We're about as prepared as we can be."

If Morgan, who is 15th in the season points, is able to get to victory circle before the year is out, it would be an amazing turnaround for a car that failed to qualify for eight races this season."

"You don't know which way to go when you are all screwed up," Morgan said. "But now we're making good power and going in the right direction."
