HERBERT HAS HARD LUCK IN VEGAS

LAS VEGAS (October 28, 2007) Doug Herbert and the Snap-on Tools team suffered hard luck at the ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals.

Qualified in the No. 11 position, Herbert squared off against Brandon Bernstein in the opening round of eliminations.

Herbert was first on the throttle with an astounding reaction time (.034 of a second to Bernstein's .072), and looked to be taking the Snap-onFranchise.com dragster into the second round of racing action.

A lost cylinder and loss of the blower belt slowed the Snap-onFranchise.com rail car to 4.61 at the quarter-mile mark, giving Bernstein the win light with a 4.51 second pass.

"Of course we are disappointed with our bad luck today and loosing early," said Herbert, "but we have had a great year. When we were here six months ago, we were sixteenth in points.

"We made the first phase of the Countdown to the Championship after our win in Reading, and came back to Las Vegas sitting sixth in points. The Snap-on Tools team has come too far to let this first round loss get us too down.

"We will head out to Pomona for the Winternationals and make sure the Snap-onFranchise.com dragster is ready to go rounds and end the year with solid finish."
