Cory Mac Faces David Baca on Sunday; FRAM Dragster Closes Qualifying with Solid 4.557-second Run

LAS VEGAS, October 27, 2007 -- Cory McClenathan didn't come away with the $100,000 Technicoat Top Fuel Shootout prize, but he did close Saturday qualifying with another solid 4.557-second run to grab 12th place for Sunday's ACDelco Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

It was FRAM dragster driver's second 4.557 of qualifying run in two days and it puts him against David Baca (No. 5, 4.532 at 326.79 mph) in the opening round.

"We were happy because the car ran better and we have a good tune-up for Sunday," McClenathan said. "The Top Fuel cars are playing hardball and running well. We will be ready to go some rounds and try to get into the top 10.

"We didn't run nearly as good as we expected in the first round of the Shootout. We smoked the tires against Tony Schumacher and we really don't know why. I am looking forward to our race against Baca."
