Treble adjusting to Chicago weather

Chicago, Ill -- Friday Pit Report:

The 2003 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Bike season is now 5 races old, and one common theme has been established in these first few races, severe weather during the Friday qualifying sessions. Again in Chicago Mother Nature took control of the event, this time threatening racers and fans alike with thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Craig Treble put the Matco Tools Bike in the No. 7 spot, running a best of 7.258 @ 181.30 in the first of the two Friday qualifying sessions. "We put in our brand new Vance & Hines motor for this weekend, and in both sessions we bogged the motor pretty bad. The Englishtown weather forced us to detune to run fast, now in Chicago we need to go the other way and hop this bad boy up to get some ET out of it. If we can get the Matco Tools Bike to leave the line decently, we will really improve our qualifying position tomorrow."

If the weather does not hold up for Saturday qualifying, the Pro Stock Bike ladder now will have Craig Treble putting the Matco Tools Bike up against Karen Stoffer on the Jonoco Motorsports Suzuki in round one of Sunday eliminations.
