Newly crowned NHRA Funny Car champion John Force will be heading to Palm Beach International Raceway™ (PBIR) along with his two other Funny Car drivers 2009 Funny Car champion Robert Hight and 2012 NHRA Rookie of the Year Courtney Force as well as 2013 Rookie of the Year and Top Fuel driver Brittany Force. The team will once again participate in the Professional Racers Owners Organization, Inc. (PRO) 4th annual PRO Winter Warm‐up (#PROwarmup) on January 17 and 18, 2014. This event brings together all the top names in professional drag racing, under the lights at PBIR’s Drag Strip, as race teams test and tune their Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars in anticipation of the 2014 race season.

“I am ready to get back into my hot rod. I took some time off but now I am ready to get that 17th Funny Car championship. It won’t be easy especially when you look at my drivers like Robert Hight in the Auto Club Ford Mustang and my daughter Courtney Force in the Traxxas Ford Mustang. They are hungry for their own championships. There will be some heavy hitters at the PRO event and it will be a great way to get the season started,” said John Force.

The John Force Racing team has had a busy off-season including media opportunities on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, the Hallmark channel’s Home & Family show as well as the Queen Latifah Show. The team will begin working towards their 19th team championship and continuing to develop the young stable of drivers.

“I can’t wait to get to West Palm Beach. I am so ready to get the season started. We finished my rookie season on a high note with a semi-final finish at the Auto Club Finals in Pomona and then winning Rookie of the Year. I want to continue to improve,” said Castrol EDGE Top Fuel driver Brittany Force. “I made my first side by side Top Fuel run at last Year’s PRO Winter Warm-Up so I want to come back and show all the Florida fans how much my team has improved.”

In addition to John Force Racing, the PRO Winter Warm‐up, presented by Bennett Auto Supply, will feature an impressive group of drag racing’s elite including: Al‐Anabi Racing drivers, Shawn Langdon and Khalid alBalooshi, as well as Torrence Racing driver, Billy Torrence. Additionally, in his return to Don Schumacher Racing, Tommy Johnson Jr. will join teammates Tony Schumacher, Antron Brown, Jack Beckman, Matt Hagan, Ron Capps and Spencer Massey. Kalitta Motorsports drivers Del Worsham and Alexis DeJoria will also be in attendance. Other drivers racing at PBIR include Chad Head, Bob Tasca III, Cruz Pedregon, Steve Torrence, Terry McMillen, Richie Crampton and Bob Vandergriff Jr.

“There will be a ton of great teams getting ready for the season. I know my Traxxas team has been working hard all off-season. We won a couple times last year including the first race of the year in Pomona. I want to do well at the PRO Winter Warm-Ups and then carry that momentum to defend my Winternationals title,” said Courtney Force. “The best thing about this event is spending some time with the fans. They don’t get to see a lot of 300+ mph runs so they get a lot of action on the two days of the Winter Warm-Ups.”

Among the fastest‐accelerating machines in the world, 10,000‐horsepower Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars

accelerate from 0‐to‐100 mph in less than a second and reach top speeds in excess of 300 mph. Fans will not only have the opportunity to watch the action on the track; they can also experience the thrill of being up close and personal in the pits, as teams rebuild their engines after each pass.

President and Chief Executive Officer of IRG Sports + Entertainment™, Jason Rittenberry noted, “The PRO Winter

Warm‐up offers South Florida fans unprecedented access to professional drag racing’s legendary drivers and teams – with two nights of full‐fledged, thrilling competition on the PBIR Drag Strip. Because there is no purse on the line, you’ll see these racers engage in 300 mph wide‐open runs with no holds barred.”

Two‐day spectator tickets for the PRO Winter Warm‐up are $50 for adults, $25 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and under. Tickets will go on sale to the public on November 17, 2013. Parking is free at PBIR for all guests.
