FENTON, MO - Veteran drag racer Jerry Haas has developed an uncanny knack of aligning himself with some of the best driving talent within the sport. In past seasons, the Fenton, Mo.-based, Pro Stock Truck racer has been involved in partnership with such veteran entities such as former Pro Stock champions Darrell Alderman and Billy Huff as well as Ray Franks and Mark Osborne. Effective today, the 12-time, Car Craft All-Star Award recepient can add one more distinguished name to his list.

Haas will join forces with Pro Stock Truck standout Brad Jeter for a run at the 2000 NHRA/Winston Pro Stock title. In doing so, he will focus his duties on being the team owner and crewchief while Jeter will take over the driving chores of the Chevrolet S-10 Truck. Both parties are understandably excited about the new venture.

"I am real impressed with Brad as a driver and I feel that he brings a wealth of positives to our team," explained Haas. "We knew at the end of last season that we needed to make some changes to make racing on the competitive NHRA circuit a reality. In joining forces with Brad Jeter, I have renewed interest in winning some races and capturing our first NHRA/Winston championship."

Jeter feels that aligning himself with Haas will take two strong teams and create an incredible single team. Both drivers finished in the top ten in points.

"We are proud of what we accomplished in 1999," explained Jeter, who finished runner-up in the NHRA/Winston points championship last season. "I am impressed with Jerry Haas not only as a chassis builder, but as a person. I am pleased to align our team with such a reputable individual. I've never been so excited about a racing season. This is my tenth season in drag racing and I feel the best I've ever felt. I know I have a team capable of winning the championship."

Both Haas and Jeter look forward to a long-term working relationship.

The new Haas-Jeter alliance will make their national event debut at the NHRA AUTOZONE Winternationals in Pomona, Ca., on February 3 - 6. The team will continue to do battle on the 15-race series in a Chevrolet S-10 Truck while utilizing a Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins powerplant. As of now, the team boasts no major sponsor, but has several promising leads. GM Racing, in conjunction with the Chevrolet S-10 brand, will continue their support of the team.
