Jeg Coughlin to drive two cars

Jeg Coughlin Jr will compete in Pro Stock and Super Stock at the Sears Craftsman NHRA Nationals this week at Gateway Internationals Raceway. This will be the first time since 1998 that he has elected to compete in two classes at the same event.

The 33-year old second generation driver is the only driver in NHRA history to win in four separate competition classes in a single season. The historic accomplishment occurred in 1997 winning in Super Stock, Competition Eliminator, Super Gas and Pro Stock.

Jeg will pilot the JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier that his oldest brother John Coughlin drives in Super Stock C-Modified. John recently won the Pontiac Excitement Nationals in the car.

"I am really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel in Super Stock at Gateway International Raceway," explained Jeg. "I love racing. I have always enjoyed running in Super Stock and the competition surrounding the NHRA Lucas Oil Sportsman Series is second to none. The opportunity to drive presented itself when my brother (John) decided to sit the race out to spend time with his family. John knew it was something I have wanted to do and when he offered I jumped on the chance."
