(Indianapolis, IN) Ask anyone that has spent some time around Rodger Brogdon and team owner Steve Kent and they'll tell you that these 2 businessmen are as dedicated to their racing as they are to their respective business endeavors. With the running of the 56th annual Mac Tools US Nationals this week in Indianapolis that dedication will be very evident with not 1 but four entries flying the Attitude Apparel / PISTONATOR team colors.
Obviously leading the way will be the Pro Stock Pontiac GXP driven by Rodger Brogdon. In just his second full season of Pro Stock competition, Brogdon has solidified a Top-10 finish to the year and looks to close in on championship run beginning this weekend. "We've certainly had our struggles this year," said Brogdon, "but all of that is behind us now. We've been testing of late, discovered some things that have been corrected and we feel very confident that we can be a major player In NHRA'S Countdown to 1 over these last 6 races. We've always had a car and team that can compete with the best of them, it's been the little things holding us back, and we're done messing with the little things now."
Also flying the colors of the Attitude Apparel / PISTONATOR team this week will be the Pro Stock motorcycle team of Michael Phillips and Craig Treble. Phillips, who has been running the Racers Edge Suzuki this season, will debut new PISTONATOR colors at Indy and join newly added team mate Treble who's also riding a PISTONATOR Suzuki. Both Phillips and Treble enter this week's event as Top-10 contenders, with Phillips sitting 3rd in the points standings and giving chase to his 1st national championship. Treble will start the Countdown to 1 from the 10th spot, his 12th consecutive year with a top ten finish. When asked about Indy and the opportunity to run for the Full throttle Championship, both riders just smiled and said "Bring it on."
Team owner Steve Kent is going to throw his hat in the ring this weekend as well, with his newly freshened E/A Comp eliminator Corvette that will also be flying the team colors and PISTONATOR logo. Kent, who has been attending to family and business concerns for the past couple of months is anxious to return to the track and has decided to bring his SS/AH Hemi Cuda along as well and will be competing in this weekend's Hemi Challenge. Steve Kent's only comment when asked about returning to the track was "It's Indy, and it's time to have some fun."
It's going to be a busy weekend for the PISTONATOR team, and to a man, they're all looking forward to it. Everyone on the team knows that they've got what it takes to reach the winners circle, and Indy would be the perfect place to do it.
