CLERMONT, Ind., Sept. 1, 2007 -- After three of five qualifying sessions for Monday's Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park, Dave Connolly said, "so far, so good."

The assessment came Saturday evening when Connolly rested in fourth position with a best of 6.662 seconds that came in the day's first run. He followed it with a 6.692 in the evening run in the non-preferred lane.

"The left lane is better and we'll be in that lane in Sunday's first session," said the driver of Evan Knoll's Torco Racing Fuels Chevy Cobalt. "We tried some things that didn't work out but we learned from it. We are happy being fourth right now at the U.S. Nationals." And there is room for improvement Sunday.
