CLERMONT, Ind. -Two-time NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Bike champion Angelle Savoie will try for her first victory in the K&N Filters Pro Bike Klash, a special event for NHRA Pro Stock Bike competitors Aug. 31 during the 48th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, as the No. 1 seed.

The total race day purse for the 10th annual K&N Filters Pro Bike Klash at Indianapolis Raceway Park is $36,000. The winner will earn a $15,000 bonus from K&N Filters. Any rider who can win the Klash and the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals on Sept. 2 will earn a $10,000 'Double-Up' bonus from the NHRA.

The Klash runner-up will earn $5,000. The two semifinalists will earn $3,000 each, while the four first-round finishers will earn $2,500 apiece.

Savoie claimed the No. 1 spot for the special event for the first time in her career by earning nine No. 1 qualifying efforts during the 14 NHRA events that make up the Klash series. Pro Stock Bike riders receive $51,000 during the Klash series. In addition to the $36,000 available in the Duel, $15,000 in bonuses are awarded to quick qualifiers throughout the Klash series.

Shawn Gann rode his Suzuki to victory in his first-ever K&N Filters Pro Bike Klash, defeating 2000 Klash winner Antron Brown in final. Gann just missed out on the 'Double-Up' bonus offered by NHRA, finishing as the runner-up of Mac Tools U.S. Nationals to Savoie.

Three-time NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Bike champion Matt Hines, who won the Klash four years in a row ('96-'99), starts from the No. 2 position and is seeking an NHRA-record fifth title in the bonus program.

K&N Filters Pro Bike Klash rounds are scheduled for 12:30, 2:25 and 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 31.
