Jeg Coughlin was one of the drivers with a smile on his face after NHRA officials announced that qualifying for the 49th Annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals would resume next weekend at Indianapolis Raceway Park due to the weather. The Pro Stock class was able to run two qualifying sessions on Saturday.

The reigning NHRA POWERade Pro Stock champion has the longest active qualifying streak in Pro Stock at 29 races and is one of only three drivers who have qualified for each event so far this season. Jeg is currently sitting in the No. 18 position with a time of 6.859 at 201.22 mph.

"We are obviously excited about having a second chance," said Jeg. "We are working on trying to make a couple of laps before qualifying resumes in Indy. At this point we are looking at Gateway International Raceway outside of St. Louis midweek. I think we have everything under control, but it's not very often you get a second chance like this. We just felt as a team that it's something we should take advantage of."

There are three scheduled qualifying sessions that will begin next weekend. The first session will take place Friday evening. There will be two qualifying sessions on Saturday and the race will be held on Sunday.
