McClenathan Races Herbert in First Round Monday

INDIANAPOLIS, September 3, 2006 -- Five consistent qualifying runs brought smiles to the Carrier Boyz Racing FRAM Boost Top Fuel team as they head into Monday's Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park.

McClenathan's 4.524-second elapsed time at 329.34 mph put him sixth in the starting line-up and sends him against Doug Herbert (11th, 4.545 at 322.50).

"We have a good race car," he said," and I'm excited going into the U.S. Nationals. This team really needs to go some rounds. All of us -- Mark and Andy Carrier, the crew and our sponsors -- could use a race win."

With crew chief Wes Cerny and assistant crew chief Tony Shortall tweaking the tune-up, McClenathan had times of 4.524, 4.599, 4.627 and 4.618 seconds.
