Solid Effort from FRAM Boost Top Fuel Dragster Pleases Team

INDIANAPOLIS, September 1, 2006 -- A strong first qualifying run got Cory McClenathan and the Carrier Boyz FRAM Boost team off to a good start in the 52nd Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.

"Testing paid off for us," McClenathan said after the 4.524-second run at 329.34 mph put him fourth. "Crew chief Wes Cerny and assistant crew chief Tony Shortall did a great job. Preparation was the key and testing definitely helped. It's a good spot for us to be. We want to keep it up. This is a good boost for our team."

Four more qualifying attempts are scheduled (two Saturday and two Sunday) before the top 16 begin eliminations Monday.
