CLEREMONT, IND.- There's nothing like a hometown showing that fires up the competitive spirits of a racer. Top Fuel racer Bruce Litton will be plenty fired up when takes a stroll across the street from his shop to the legendary Indianapolis Raceway Park to participate in the world renowned NHRA U.S. Nationals. When we say that the Wix Filters presented by the Top Dragster Driving Experience-sponsored driver will walk across the street - we mean it literally. The soft-spoken driver has his Bruce Litton Trailers Sales shop located in front of IRP.

Litton feels a sense of guilt.

"Well, we have to travel so much to all the other races that it just doesn't feel right to have the race come to you," laughs Litton, who also participates on the IHRA circuit in between gigs on the NHRA side. "Running at Indy has always been my dream as long as I have been racing. It's a refreshing feeling to see all of my comrades and yet get to be at home at the same time. It's a good experience for all of my crew guys as well."

Not only will the racers be coming to race at Litton's hometown, but also his newly built shop will be featured on an edition of NHRA Heat, which is a news style television program that features the NHRA Winston Championship Drag Racing Series. What makes his building so newsworthy? Quite simply, Litton has taken the feel of his original hometown of Oneida, TN., and created a make-believe version within the walls. The appearance that it gives off is second to none. Litton feels that maybe he created a monster.

"It started out all innocent, but the more we built on it, the more it had to have the old feel and look," smiles Litton, who admits that part of the attraction is an impressive collection of pedal cars. "I'm really proud of what we accomplished with it. It provides us with a special feeling that takes away from the routine of feeling like you're always going to work."

Inside of Litton's fantasy world is a make believe Sheriff's office, movie theatre, ice cream parlor and even an original IRP neon sign.

With all of these events going on, Litton still has plans to possible win his first NHRA national event. Boy, what a treat that would be.

The Top Dragster Driving Experience has retained Litton's team to carry out their marketing program with WIX Filters. Top Dragster Driving Experience President Joel Collins feels the triangle marketing partnership between WIX Filters, his company and Litton's team provides a future example for other teams aspiring to run Top Fuel.
