Baytown, Texas (March 25): After qualifying No. 8 for the O'Reilly Nationals at Houston Raceway Park, Tony "The Sarge" Schumacher was upset in round one of eliminations by rookie and No. 9 qualifier, Darrell Russell.

After a fly over by three Army Apache helicopters, Schumacher and Russell were the first pair of cars to take to the Baytown track. Schumacher's Army dragster left the starting line hard and smoked the tires about 150 feet down track. Schumacher coasted to a 6.795 e.t. at 133.68 mph, while Russell continued to victory with a 5.275 second pass.

"We just got a little to greedy on our clutch setup," said a disappointed Schumacher. "We have been chasing it all weekend and thought we had figured it out."

"We are going to test some more before Las Vegas and we will be ready to go."

Schumacher drops to No. 8 in Winston Championship points, 133 points out of first place. The Army dragster will race this weekend at Texas Raceway in a match-race against Gary Scelzi.

Next stop on the NHRA tour is the Second Annual Summitracing.com Nationals at "The Strip" at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, April 5-8.
