</pre> "It feels good to be No. 1," said Panella. "In my mind we have been struggling and there's more potential here and finally we got both of these trucks running good today. I feel good about this Panella Trucking S-10. We made some really good runs today in two different weather conditions. Hopefully tomorrow we'll be able to even improve a little more. Tonight if the rain comes in, that will only help the track for tomorrow. We'll see what happens in the morning- right now we're going to put it back the way it was and just go from there. We're going to just go up to the line and do our own thing. We're looking forward to tomorrow.
Scott Perin was the big mover of the day when he went from barely hanging on 16th, into the top half of the field. Perin enters eliminations in the sixth position on the eliminations ladder.
"We were trying some new stuff in the first couple rounds, and was going the wrong way. We were pretty lost in those first two sessions. We went back to what we were doing in Pomona. It worked and put us back where we wanted to be."
Joe Pigford, driver of the Full Boar Motorsports Chevrolet S-10, has surprised everyone this season by qualifying at all of the first three races. Pigford attributes his success to the Jenkins horsepower under his hood.
"I am very please to be running this good," said Pigford. "Bill's (Jenkins) guys have given us a good piece to run here. We have made some good runs here, and I think we have enough power to even go a little quicker. With little bit of luck maybe we could put this truck in the winner's circle in front of the home town folks."
Eliminations at the 14th Annual O'Reilly Nationals will take place on Sunday March 25 at 11:00 AM CST.
