Jeg Coughlin/#2 Pro Stock:
Jeg Coughlin's day ended early today, which is a very rare sight. The first round put Greg Anderson and Jeg head to head. Greg had the advantage off of the line. However, it was neck and neck until the JEG'S car started to loose traction at half track. The car started to spin and the DART Machinery horsepower couldn't stay planted to the track. "This wasn't the best weekend for us. But we are all well aware of how early it is in the '99 NHRA season. There are plenty of race remaining and our goal remains the same; win the '99 NHRA Winston Pro Stock Championship," commented Jeg. The team will regroup and work toward winning the next race in Dallas.
Mike Coughlin/#28 Pro Stock Truck:
Saturday the first and second rounds were run in Pro Stock Truck. Mike won both, which put him into the second semifinal round behind the wheel of his yellow and black JEG'S S-10 Pro Stock Truck. Mike said, "the team had a great weekend and my JEG'S machine performed well. Although we did not make it to the final round, we picked up more valuable NHRA Winston points." The next race for the Pro Stock Trucks will be the Pennzoil Nationals.
