SONOMA, Calif. (July 29, 2005) -- Hillary Will raced her family-owned Girl Power Dragster to the two quickest runs of the day in the Top Alcohol Dragster category Friday at Infineon Raceway to grab the provisional No. 1 qualifying position at the 18th annual FRAM-Autolite Nationals.
The 25-year-old Northern California native opened qualifying at her home race track by powering her Bucky Austin-tuned rail to the quickest run of the day when she stopped the Infineon Raceway timers in 5.396 seconds at 266.85 mph. The Girl Power Racing dragster then posted another consistent performance as Will blasted her blown alcohol dragster to a pass of 5.398 at 265.85 to pace the Top Alcohol Dragster class.
"I'm glad we made two consistent runson Friday," Will said. "Our second run could have been quicker, but there was a strong head wind on Friday afternoon. We want to continue to run well because we have a lot of family and friends here at the track this weekend."
