"Larry and I think we know what our problems are. We'll make some changes in a couple areas and then go to Houston. We'll be OK." Herbert, meanwhile, was pleased with the performance of his new Murf McKinney chassis. "It ran real well," he commented. "We were worried about the balance of the car because we'd made changes to the fuel tank and front wings. It went straight down the track. "The engine had a cylinder out at the hit of the throttle on our 4.71 run and it blew up at about 800 or 900 feet. If it had run all the way it would've probably been in the 4.50s (seconds)." The rain-delay means Herbert and his Top Fuel cohorts will have been inactive for a month two races into the 24-event schedule. "It will be good to get to Houston for that reason, too," Herbert added. "It's been a long time since we've raced. I'm ready to go."
