HALLSVILLE, Tex - While most racers at the rained out Division 4 Federal Mogul Drag Racing Series race in Hallsville, Texas were wishing the rain would go away, Competition Eliminator driver Greg Hogue was counting his blessings. The Division 4 competitor qualified the Caliber Collision Centers/GM Performance Parts D/ED No. 6 with an off pace 7.836.

"We hurt a lifter on the warm-up for the first session and missed that run. We received a lot of help from our fellow Comp racers, especially Charlie Stewart who supplied another lifter," explained Hogue. "Then on the second run, at about 1000 feet the timing belt gave loose, and really hurt the motor. Thanks to the rain, we have a shot at racing, because if it didn't rain, we would be first round runner-up. The motor is back at Al Weiss' shop in Wichita Falls, so when we get it back, it should be strong as ever."

Following the torrential rains that plagued East Texas, the race was called and rescheduled to August 25-26. Hogue is slotted to run Mike Trumble in the first round.

Hogue said, "If we can go back and win this race, we just might have a shot at winning the Division."
