Frank Hawley to drive Rite Aid Pharmacies' Funny Car

Gotham City Racing, LLC will sport the Rite Aid Pharmacies logo and colors as the title sponsor on its second Funny Car and return two-time NHRA Funny Car champion Frank Hawley to NHRA competition for two races in August.

"We are thrilled to have Rite Aid team up with us for two races and happy that Frank and our second team will be back in action," said Roger Burgess, Gotham City Racing team owner and President and CEO of ProCare RX. "This team has a great driver and a talented crew and it should be exciting to watch. I am looking forward to having the folks from Rite Aid Pharmacies experience the excitement of our sport."

Hawley will debut the Rite Aid Dodge Charger R/T at the Toyo Tires Nationals in Reading, Pa., August 15-17, and also will compete in the 57th Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, NHRA's oldest, most prestigious event, August 29-September 1, at Indianapolis.

"Obviously, I am very happy to be back in the driver's seat," said Hawley, who has competed at three races this season. "We welcome Rite Aid Pharmacies to our sport. It's an honor to be driving for them."

Aaron Brooks is crew chief on Hawley's car and Rod Centorbi is the assistant crew chief.

Burgess also owns the Gotham City Racing Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car driven by Melanie Troxel.
