MADISON, Ill. (Sunday June 24)– Greg Stanfield and Bart Price, drivers of the DBP Enterprises Chevrolet S-10 Pro Stock Trucks, entered eliminations at the 5th Annual Sears Craftsman NHRA Nationals in St. Louis hold the third and fourteenth spots.
As it will happen when with two-truck teams, there is always a chance they may have to race each other. This was the case in Round 1 of today’s eliminations.
For the second time this year Stanfield and Price squared off against each other. The outcome this time was the same; Stanfield took the win over price. Stanfield ran a 7.548 / 180.09 mph to Prices 7.633 / 177.65 mph.
In Round 2 Stanfield defeated John Lingenfelter. Stanfield ran a 7.534 / 180.12 mph to Lingenfelter’s 7.562 / 178.59 mph.
Stanfield day would end in the semi-finals when Randy Daniels defeated him. Daniels ran a 7.532 / 179.76 mph to Stanfield’s 7.550 / 179.85 mph.
"I’m just glad to have these hot weather races behind us," said Stanfield. "We have really struggled at the last couple races. I am glad to have them over.
"We are going to go back home now and get ready for Indy. We have a list of thing we are going to work on, and I think it is longer than the time we have off.
"We want to ready for Indy, and to do that it is going to take a lot of work. So we are going back to work tomorrow. See you in Indy."
The next stop on the Pro Stock Truck schedule will be the 47th Annual Mac Tools US Nationals August 29 through September 3, in Indianapolis, Ind.
