The JEG'S Mail Order Pro Stock Truck Team Is Ready To Show Their Strength At The MacTools Gatornationals

The JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10 Pro Stock Trucks head to the MacTools Gatornationals, which is their second race of the 2000 NHRA season. After a six week break in the quarter mile action for Mike and John Coughlin the two are ready for the MacTools Gatornationals.

John Coughlin is currently in the No. 4 spot in the 2000 NHRA Winston Championship after one race. He has 76 points and is 41 points from the No 1 position.

John commented about racing at the MacTools Gatornationals, "The first time I ever drove a Pro Stock Truck was in pre-season testing in 1999 at Gainesville Raceway. Having my first memory behind the wheel of a Pro Stock Truck at this track will make this race even more special to me." John Coughlin enters the MacTools Gatornationals with a full season under his belt behind the wheel of his yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy S-10.

Coughlin added, "I am really looking forward to picking up where we left off in Pomona. We made it to the semifinal round and we learned a lot as a team, which I think will help us in Gainesville."

At the NHRA season opener, Mike and John were forced to race each other in the first round of the AutoZone Winternationals. Mike is currently resting in the No. 14 position with 31 points and is a mere 2 points from entering the top ten. With a strong performance in Gainesville, Mike could easily be among the top 5 when the race concludes on Sunday.

Mike explained, "The points are really tight right now, mainly because we as a class have only had one race. However, it is important to make an early season charge."

Coughlin continued to comment on the gaining points, "You can make some of the largest moves of the season right now. Doing well at the MacTools Gatornationals is important for everyone, which will make this one of the most competitive Pro Stock Truck races of the season."

During the time between races, Richard Maskin and his staff at DART Machinery have been busy rebuilding the teams engines. Richard said, "We have made some advancements recently with our small block program, which we are eager to see in raceday situations. This class is all about trying new things that will help give you a performance advantage."

Just like their Pro Stock counter parts, the Pro Stock Truck engines thrive on cool air, low humidity and sea-level like corrected altitude. Gainesville Raceway, at this time of the year, is known for having some of the best conditions for naturally aspirated engines. NHRA Winston Drag Racing fans should be in store for some of the best Pro Stock Truck racing of the season.

With engine builders having six weeks between races to increase horsepower and make engine refinements, the Mac Tools Gatornationals is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
