DIXON WILL START SIXTH AT ENGLISHTOWN, LOOKS FOR SIXTH STRAIGHT FATHER'S DAY VICTORY

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (June 17, 2006) Two-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon blasted his Miller Lite dragster to a run of 4.574-seconds on Saturday afternoon at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park to claim the No. 6 qualifying position. The veteran Top Fuel pilot will attempt to earn his sixth consecutive Father's Day victory on Sunday afternoon at Raceway Park.

Dixon, a three-time winner at Raceway Park (1995, 2004-05), entered Saturday's qualifying for the 37th annual K&N Filters Supernationals in the No. 7 qualifying position. On his first attempt of the day, the 38-time NHRA winner used a Don Bender tune-up to drive the Miller Lite/Lucas Oil dragster to a run of 4.574 seconds at 327.98 mph to move to sixth in the 16-car Top Fuel order. It was Dixon's quickest pass of the weekend. On his final qualifying attempt, Dixon posted a run of 4.602 at 325.77 to rank him sixth in the ladder.

The six-time finalist at Raceway Park will match-up against No. 11 qualifier and current Top Fuel point leader Melanie Troxel in the first round of Top Fuel eliminations, which begin at 11 a.m. (ET) on Sunday morning at Raceway Park. Dixon is 5-2 in his career versus Troxel.
