Driver of Knoll Gas Energy Pro Stock Pontiac Misses by Two Thousandths

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J., June 23, 2007 -- Justin Humphreys definitely needs a little luck. He isn't asking much, just a quicker qualifying quarter-mile run by one-thousandth of a second or two would do.

Humphreys was one of the few drivers to improve his elapsed time in Saturday's second qualifying run for Sunday's Pro Care Rx SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. Seventeenth going into that run, his best time was 6.650 seconds and he needed a lap 6.643 seconds, but ran 6.645.

"We just need a little luck," said a frustrated Humphreys. "We ran good; we were eighth for the session." He traced his misfortune to "not making a good run in the good session. This was just one of those things."

Humphreys returns to competition in the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals, Friday through Sunday in Norwalk, Ohio.
