Englishtown, NJ. -- The final results are in from the 41st annual NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 1 points meet at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park . Top Alcohol Dragster pilot, Troy Buff and Top Alcohol Funny Car driver, Frank Manzo worked there way to the winner's circle.

Buff of Spring, Texas , defeated Dave DeAngelis of Middlesex, N.J ., making a pass of 5.544 seconds at 258.76 mph. DeAngelis fell one pass short of the victory when his car fouled in the finals.

Manzo of Morganville, N.J., repeated as the victor of this race and by doing so earned crucial points towards his National Championship. No. 3 qualifier Mickey Ferro from Stamford, Conn., could not keep up with Manzo's 5.687 second run at 259.06 mph.

Competition Eliminator racer, Stephen Szupka of Willow Grove PA., defeated Gerry Russo of Saddle River, N.J., when he fouled in the finals to take top honors. Gary Federico of Hopewell, N.J., drove his '87 Grand National to the winners circle with a time of 11.045 seconds in Super Street.

In other categories, Biddeford, Maine, resident Bob Letellier defeated Ray Velpreda from Ewing, N.J., with a time of 10.765 to take top honors in Stock Eliminator. In Super Comp Jack Sepanek Jr. of Moosic, PA., took home the trophy with a time of 8.900 seconds. Super Stock driver Joseph Santangelo II of Marlborough, Conn. , drove his '90 Camaro to victory by defeating Frank Maiolo from Mt. Vernon, N.Y. In Super Gas action Dan Northrop of Doylestown, P.A., made a pass of 9.906 seconds to take victory. In Saturday's qualifying action, Craig English of Mount Holly, N.J., was involved in an incident in his '98 Mustang. English was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University in New Brunswick , N.J.

Northeast Division racers head to Atco Raceway for the next NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, September 21-23.
