ENGLISHTOWN, N. J. (June 19, 2004) -- With a good pass of 4.736 seconds, Cory McClenathan pushed the Carrier Boyz Racing Berryman Products Top Fuel dragster into the No.10 qualifying positions at this weekend's 35th annual NHRA K&N Filters SuperNationals presented by Strauss Discount Auto.

In tomorrow's eliminations, McClenathan will be matched against Scott Weis, who qualified No. 7 with an elapsed time of 4.676 seconds at 320.51 mph. In three meetings, McClenathan holds a 2-1 advantage over Weis.

"We've got a good direction to go," said Cory Mac. "Todd just feels like he was over center and he made some big changes. The early round today kind of helped us and this last one proved it. We need to go a little quicker than a 73 (4.73 seconds) but at the same time we need to go from A to B. I haven't done that in eight runs and I finally got to do that today. I got to use my chutes and I'm happy about that."

Eliminations for all classes get underway on Sunday at 11 a.m. Same-day television coverage of eliminations can be seen on ESPN from 5-7 p.m. All times are subject to change and reflect Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
