Pomona, Calif. - Don Schumacher Racing's team of #NitroPilots are set to fire up motorsports fans worldwide with its official team video for the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. The explosive production, employing a variety of high-end technologies, was designed and executed by long-time partner and Global Sports/Entertainment lifestyle brand Oakley, to celebrate the season's Feb. 7 kick off in Pomona, Calif.

Over two days at preseason testing last month in South Florida, Oakley's crew of mad scientists/videographers employed an unprecedented display of technologies to capture team DSR and its personalities in action using famed Red Digital cameras. Red Digital is the video camera of choice for major Hollywood films.

"Oakley's crazy designers and engineers are always innovating, imagining and detonating their competition, whether it's their patented eyewear technologies, racing gear technologies, apparel or anything else," said Ron Capps, pilot of the NAPA AUTO PARTS Funny Car for DSR.

"I've always been proud to be associated with them since the beginning when they came into drag racing. It's just really awe-inspiring to see something so cutting edge with the cameras they were using at the test session. What they did with the different camera angles were things that we've all sat around and dreamed about being able to get shots of. Oakley has been a way of life for me. If you look in my closet it's all Oakley from head to toe, including my racing gear. It's always cool to do something with them."

The Oakley video production team went all in with cinematic firsts in drag racing, including the debut of the much-talked-about drone cam that caused quite the buzz on the final day of the PRO Winter Warm-up. The crew also employed a zip line cam similar to what is seen at many high profile sporting events including professional and college football.

In 2013, DSR brought 23 event titles back to its headquarters in Brownsburg, Ind., pushing DSR's total to 219 since 1970 and 214 over the past 14 seasons. The 2014 stable of DSR drivers include seven-time Top Fuel world champion Tony Schumacher, 2012 Top Fuel world champion Antron Brown, 2012 Funny Car world champion Jack Beckman, 2011 Funny Car world champion Matt Hagan, Ron Capps, Tommy Johnson Jr. and Spencer Massey.
