INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 12, 2007) -- Tony Pedregon, the 2003 NHRA Nitro Funny Car Champion and his Q Horsepower team, will travel to the high altitude of Denver, Colo. for the Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway, July 13-15, 2007.This is the 13th stop for Pedregon on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing's $50 million, 23-race tour.

Pedregon, with 33 NHRA career wins, has worked overtime on his high altitude program. "We have spent a lot of time assessing our performance data from Bandimere over the past several years," explained the optimistic Pedregon. "The elevation has been a challenge for us.Fortunately, we have the resources of Cruz, our teammate, and his crew chief, Wayne Dupuy. We will all work closely together, but our intent is to bring a slightly different engine combination that will hopefully, give us a good qualifying position and put us in contention for the win."

Pedregon, a winner of the NHRA Mile-High Nationals in 1998 and 1999, comes to Denver following a solid 8th place qualifying effort (4.875) at the O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn. last weekend.Pedregon hazed the tires in the first round of eliminations, thus allowing Gary Scelzi to sneak past for the victory. He is 4th in Championship points- only the top eight Funny Car teams will advance to the Countdown to the Championship which begins with the U.S. Nationals, August 29-September 3 in Indianapolis.

"We are looking forward to the Western Swing," said Pedregon. "It can be a demanding stretch, but is time for us to continue to be consistent with solid qualifying efforts and round wins.We know we can win on any given weekend so we are aiming for the Winner's Circle in Denver."
