ANDERSON SAYS GOODYEAR'S PRO STOCK TIRES FAST, CONSISTENT

MORRISON, Colo. (July 14, 2008) -- Greg Anderson, the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Pro Stock star, grinned in the Media Center as he clutched his latest trophy.

He had just won the NHRA Mopar Mile High Nationals and set a track record along the way.

Anderson has won three Pro Stock championships in the last five years and holds a sizeable lead in the chase for this year's title. One of the titles he didn't win during that period was claimed by his teammate Jason Line.

And, make no mistake a bout it, Greg Anderson likes the tires Goodyear supplies the NHRA Pro Stock teams. The Pro Stock category is open to competition between tiremakers, but Goodyear-shod cars have won the last 348 Pro Stock races and taken the top qualification position in 346 of the last 348 races.

"I love them," Anderson said. "I love everything about them. That's a part you never have to worry about."

Anderson won the final round, edging Allen Johnson. It was his fifth win this season and the 56th of his career. Anderson set track records for elapsed time (7.010 seconds) and speed (196.30 mph) during time trials.

There were 20 Pro Stock entries at Bandimere. The only non-Goodyear customer on the list did not qualify for Sunday's eliminations.

Anderson said he gets 25 runs on each set of Goodyear tires and added, "They don't change from run to run."
