HERBERT READY FOR MILE-HIGH VICTORY

Denver, Colo. (July 11, 2007) With three of six back to back races under his belt, Doug Herbert, driver of the Snap-on Tools Top Fuel dragster, will head to the Western Swing with his eye on going rounds and gaining points.

The Western Swing begins this weekend with the 28th Annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere Speedway, just a few miles outside Denver. With an elevation of 5,860 feet above sea level, this track provides a unique set of challenges each team must face.

"The facilities are beautiful," said Herbert, "with the track being carved in the side of a mountain. The elevation makes it hard to even walk around because you just run out of wind, and the cars react the same way. Finding the right tune-up in the thin air can be a challenge. You pretty much have to change everything to make the car run good."

Several round wins and one final round appearance at Bandimere Speedway have meant decent performances throughout the years, but leave Herbert anxious to take home his first Mile-High victory.

With five races left before the Top Fuel field is narrowed to eight in the Countdown to the Championship, Herbert sits only 64 points outside and about three round wins away from the coveted eighth position.

"We want to make the Countdown," said Herbert. "We've have some outstanding runs this year, and some that weren't so great. We're done with those. It's time to get down to business. We need to have a strong performance this weekend, and we plan to make it happen."
