MORRISON, Col - Defending Division 5 Federal Mogul Dragster Champion David Wells will be looking to pick up his first national event win of the year during this weekend's Mopar Parts Mile High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway near Denver, Colorado. The LeMars, Iowa driver qualified No. 1 at the Division 5 race here earlier this year, and plans to pick up where he left off.

"We came here straight from Douglas [Wyoming-Division 5 race], and plan to put it back just like it was earlier in the year," Wells said. "We qualified No. 1 with that set up, and if it wasn't for getting too aggressive with it at that race, we probably would have won."

The Blue Bunny Ice Cream/ "Plain Vanilla" team will be receiving tuning advice from veteran tuner, and two time World Champion Tom Conway, who has been one of the most victorious drivers at 'the Mountain.'

"This is one of the only places you can run this setup, you have to change everything because of the altitude. All of the big names are here, Santos, Strasburg, Nicholson, and Bybee, so its going to be tough, but judging from the last time we were here, we feel pretty confident about our chances."

Qualifying begins today at 7 p.m. for the Federal Mogul Dragsters, with eliminations starting on Saturday. Go to www.nhra.com for round by round updates on the Blue Bunny Ice Cream/ "Plain Vanilla" Racing team.
