Troy Is Eager For Day Two

Troy Coughlin started off the weekend with a run of 6.900 at 198.63 mph. The run was good enough to grab the No. 7 qualifying position.

In the second qualifying session Troy and his Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier was unable to make the run. He slipped down to the No. 17 spot.

"We have a pretty solid baseline from our run in the first session," said Troy. "The engine made a funny noise when I pulled into the water box in the second session and we decided to turn it off before doing a burnout. It was a good thing we didn't run because one of the rocker arms came loose. We will be ready in the morning."

There are two remaining qualifying sessions tomorrow (Saturday). The sessions are scheduled for 11:30 Am and 3:00 PM.
