Q Racing Expects Quick Conditions This Weekend

ENNIS, Texas (October 7, 2005) -- Tony Pedregon placed the Q Racing Nitro Funny Car into the fourth spot, setting up a competitive second day of qualifying for this weekend's O'Reilly NHRA Falls Nationals at the Texas Motorplex.

Pedregon clicked off a 4.711-second elapsed time at 326.71 mph during tonight's first session. Today's cool conditions played into the 2003 NHRA champion's strengths.

"We had a good first run today," Pedregon said. "The Q car showed what it's capable of doing, so we tried to push it a little further during the second pass. The Q car was on track for another 4.70 pass, but it fell off half way through. We were a little too aggressive for the lane conditions.

"But sometimes it is necessary to test the car to know where the limit is," Pedregon continued. "Now we know how far we can go and tomorrow, depending on the weather and track conditions, we may let the Q Racing Nitro Funny Car unleash the power and go for the top stop."
