ENNIS, Texas (Oct. 10, 2003) - Scotty Cannon qualified his Oakley Time Bomb Dodge in the No. 6 spot tonight for the O'Reilly Fall Nationals, with a solid 4.902-second run at 318.58 mph, a far better pass than the tire-smoking 8.721/93.75 he saw in this afternoon's first session, which put him out of the field.

"We knew we had to put a conservative setup into the Oakley Dodge in order to make it into the field, and it worked," he said. "I'm pleased with that pass and it's great that we're solidly in.

"We also had a computer problem in the first run today, which looks like we fixed by the second pass," he added. "So, we will try to improve on this for tomorrow."
