HERBERT FOCUSED ON MAKING TOP FOUR

ENNIS, Tex. (September 19, 2007) In October 2005, Doug Herbert and the Snap-on Tools dragster raced down the concrete quarter-mile at Texas Motorplex, setting the track record and recording one of the quickest elapsed times in NHRA history, an astounding 4.441 second pass.

"Coming to Texas as the track record holder feels really good," said Herbert, "and we made it to the final round that year, too. We need to do more than that this year, though. We need a win and we're in the final stretch of the Countdown to Four."

The O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals at Texas Motorplex marks the third race in the Countdown to Four, the four race playoff phase of the Countdown to the Championship. Herbert comes into the weekend in the No. 5 position, just 43 points outside the top four.

Having moved up six positions in three races, Herbert and the Snap-on Tools team are anxious to continue their steady climb into the top four.

"The Snap-on Tools car is running good right now," said Herbert. "Everyone on the team is working really hard, and it seems to be paying off. We are making it down the track pretty consistently, and we saw the win light come on three times last Sunday. Once more would have been nice, but we did gain lots of points and move up to No. 5.

"Our goal for this weekend will be the same as it was last weekend. We need to qualify ahead of the other guys in the Countdown to Four, and win the race. We would love to leave this race with the Snap-on team in the top four."
