Early Exit for Herbert in Dallas

On Sunday the SnaponFranchise.com Top Fuel dragster went out in the first round at the O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals from the Texas Motorplex near Dallas, Texas. Doug Herbert and the Snap-on team moved down one position in the point standings and are now seventh after the second of six races in the NHRA playoffs, the Countdown to 1.

Round 1:

Herbert, the No. 15 qualifier, fell to Brandon Bernstein, the No. 2 qualifier, in the first round of eliminations. Herbert was first off the line but the SnaponFranchise.com dragster dropped a cylinder early and pulled to the left, allowing Bernstein to defeat Herbert, 3.894 to 4.354.

"We've had a really tough weekend, one of our toughest of the season. We're glad to put it behind us. I think this will push us to do better next week. We'll get everything fixed and be ready for Memphis. This team has a lot of desire to win. We still want to move up in the points, it's a challenge but we're up for it."

The Snap-on team will now travel to Memphis, Tenn. Next weekend, Sept. 26-28, they will compete in the O'Reilly NHRA Mid-South Nationals from the Memphis Motorsports Park.
